Voice of Women Voters in Tamilnadu!
Voice of Women Voter’s
In the 2016 Tamilnadu election AIADMK will be elected with no doubt with a margin of 48% to 54% vote skewed towards it (180 to 210 seats win). This might be shocking information for all who believed in the pre-election & exit-poll surveys. Where it went wrong in these predictions?
The surveys failed to capture the “Voice of women voters” in this state! The negligence and believe in the traditional way of survey methods have lead to the biased survey or failed to represent the actual scenario. To understand the common women in TN we should wear her shoe (think like her) to and analyse the actual emotional bonding towards the decision for voting.
The AIADMK captured the pulse of the common women (preferably BPL) and tapped her requirement to enhance her livelihood on day-today basis. For example – the lady who’s spending 2 to 3 hours for grinding the idli/dosa dough, spending more than 30 minutes in grinding chutti/masala, women’s who depend on husbands salary but not fed properly (alcohol consumptions or any reason) etc., the freebies given to them has been created an emotional bond towards the person or the political party.
In many incidents I was able to hear that my husband is doing canvas for opposite party, but I will vote for Amma & many told that men will be voting for opposite party out of 4 or 5 member families. The emotional connect towards the person or party is more favourable which has reduced their burden towards their livelihood and which ensures the feeding of entire people (20 kg free rice / 35 kg for BPL). Many women voter’s felt that they are rest assured of feeding their kids, even if their husbands aren’t taking care of them.
The education freebies are well received by the student community and their family member: For example – the laptop scheme for the students have made immense impact in last 5 years. The costs of laptop were high enough for them to make it as a dream to those people, which came true to them in last 5 years. Likewise we can list lot more things which were emotionally connected with the women’s on day-today basis.
The women voters skew towards AIADMK will be 70% to 80% (1.62 Crore 38% on the polled figure) in this election which will result in the historic victory to the sitting party. The above said figure is considering the rain, flood & anti-govt etc., else the same might be increased considerably.
If AIADMK manages to get of 10% to 15% of the male voters in its kitty then the margin what I said in the beginning will be achieved with no doubt.
